Experimental OS research

Ulori

A Rust-first Linux userspace for local, privacy-first, agentic computing.

ulori-dev.isorust userspace
Kernel

Linux drivers, process, storage, networking

Init

Custom Rust supervisor and service manifests

Desktop

Framebuffer shell, files, browser reader, services

Trust

Capabilities, audit log, brokered access

Future

Wayland compatibility, browser engine, local models

Why it exists

The computer should be able to act without becoming opaque.

Linux kernel, Rust-first userspace
Local agents with visible authority
Capability boundaries before convenience
Lean enough to understand, serious enough to boot

Current build

Bootable, early, honest.

Ulori currently boots as a developer ISO with a custom Rust init/supervisor, Rust framebuffer shell, service manifests, persistence support, file manager, network bring-up, and a private browser reader prototype. It is not yet a hardened daily-driver OS.
